3D printed from paintings – Art by Remco Kingmans

Scream sculpture compared to the original Munch painting.

The movie below shows an animation of the sculpture before 3D printing.
The model seen here is the model used to create the 3D print.
The original paintstrokes of the sculpture have been integrated in the statue.
I think this is the closest 3D representation of The Scream available worldwide.
Please do let me know if I'm wrong here!

3D printing technique used

This sculpture I created by using the painting as a light within my 3D software.
I then created a 3D shape that matches the painting that is projected on it.
It was great fun designing the sides and back, parts I obviously had to come up with myself!
The material is a coloured 3D printed sandstone.
